FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q. Do you do on-site consultations at all?
A. No, only remote consultations. I have young children, working remotely allows me to make them my first priority at all times.

Q. What are your qualifications?
A. I am a registered Professional Member with the Association of Feng Shui Consultants (since 2016). I have studied Advanced Flying Star Feng Shui with Master George Bennis and Business Feng Shui with Master Alan Stirling.

Q. How do I take a reading of the facing direction of my home?
A. You will need to figure out which side of your home is the facing direction. To do this answer the following questions:
*Which side of the house do people enter from most often?
*Which side of the house faces the road?
*Which side of the house lets in the most light?
*Which side of the house has a decorative façade?
*Which side of the house is the opposite of the back of the house (the back of the house is sometimes easier to define than the front of the house)?
Whichever side of your home that is identified by the majority of the above questions is considered the facing side.
You then need to get hold of a proper compass ($10 online or at a camping store). Stand with the base of compass held against the outside of the house at the facing wall so that the compass is pointed in the same direction as the facing side of the house. Take a reading from the compass. It will pay to take a few readings at varying places along the facing side to ensure that you are getting an accurate reading. To further confirm this reading you can  then go to the opposite side of the house (the back of the building) and take a reading  facing the other direction. This reading should be exactly 180 degrees to the facing direction reading. Ensure that you are not taking a reading near any metal fixtures and that you are not wearing metal jewellery while taking the reading as this will interfere with the performance of the compass.

Q. I read online that I should put a water feature in the north to help my career. I have done this but nothing is happening. Can you tell me why?
A. A lot of the information about feng shui online and in books is a simplified, inaccurate “fast food” version of feng shui. Authentic classical feng shui is not available as a one-size-fits-all solution. These suggestions are usually ineffective and can actually do harm. It is important to have a unique energy chart constructed for each building in order to tap into the true benefits and power of feng shui.

Q. Should I paint my front door red?
A. Please don’t paint your front door red, unless it was recommended by a classically trained consultant specifically for your home.

Q. Why can’t I find you on social media?
A.  So far my business has grown sufficiently without it, and I would really rather spend time with my family than spend time on social media.
